Sena Wazer is a 17 year old climate justice activist who has been fighting for the environment since she was 5. She is currently the co-director of Sunrise Connecticut, and is in her Junior year at UConn studying Environmental Studies. She was also a member of the Governor's Council on Climate Change (GC3) Equity and Environmental Justice Working Group. She lives in Storrs, Connecticut with her family. Taliyah McGee is a Senior at Albertus Magnus College majoring in Health Science. Taliyah plans on attending Southern Connecticut State University to receive a secondary degree to obtain a BSN, with the hopes of becoming a Pediatric Nurse. Taliyah is a motivational speaker, humanitarian, entrepreneur, and positive role model. Taliyah is the founder/CEO of Triumph Talk, which is a program dedicated to helping young women “Triumph OVER Trauma”, by amplifying the voices of survivors who are often victimized. Overcoming a rare eye condition that could’ve left Taliyah legally blind, an Aneurysmal Bone Cyst that could’ve left her physically impaired, and sexual assault survivor, Triumph Talk is a reflection of Taliyah’s life. A former competitive gymnast of 12 years with a passion for fitness and health, Taliyah pioneered a program for youth when she was 14 years old. ‘Shape The Nation’ for youth ages 5-17 years old. Shape the Nation is a program dedicated to combatting childhood obesity through physical fitness and health. Through both programs, Taliyah has had the opportunity to travel around the State of Connecticut making an impact. Taliyah’s goal is to continue to save, change, and impact lives globally.
Kim Washington is a native of New Haven, Connecticut. She has lived her whole life in Connecticut. She is a proud graduate of Cooperative Magnet High School, Gateway Community College and Southern Connecticut State University. She currently holds a career in Education.
After she obtained her Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, She began working with emotionally challenged and economic disadvantaged teens at Saint Frances Home for Children. She continued to progress in her career by obtaining employment with the Hamden Board of Education as a Special Education Transitional Instructor while staying active involved in her community. As a member of the New Haven Chapter of the NAACP and Elm City Nation she has committed herself to raising social awareness and helping those in need.
In 2013, she embarked on creating a positive change in New Haven to help bring an end to the countless acts of gun violence impacting her community. Thus, she founded the non-profit organization Mother's Demand Action (MDA). MDA is an organization committed to providing support and encouragement to families impacted by gun violence in New Haven and surrounding communities.
Jah'Lil Jefferies is a 20 year student in her sophomore year at Uconn studying sociology. Jah'Lil has spent years as a dancer and was a part of the GripTape Organization. The GripTape organization devotes their time to offering youth ages 15-19 opportunities to pursue something they are passionate about learning. She has worked with many Non-Profit organizations and is an Abassador for the hair care brand "Curls".

Rhonda Caldwell – Is the Lead Organizer and Founder of Hamden Action Now, an activist group in Hamden demanding equity to the black, brown and indigenous communities around the State of CT. Ms. Caldwell’s passion is grounded in police accountability and equity in the public school system. Equity begins with black, brown and indigenous people in leadership and following our agenda. She is an active member of the Hamden Black Caucus, CT Black Women, Generation Change CT Political Action Committee, and the Hamden Democratic Town Committee, - 8th District Chair. Ms. Caldwell has a long history of public services, she is an Asset Manager with the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority working with their Low Income State Housing Portfolio. During her 29 year career, Rhonda has gained a wealth of experience managing and implementing multi-million dollar budgets, managing over 5,000 units of subsidized housing, from Massachusetts to South Carolina. She has a B.S in Finance from Sacred Heart University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of New Haven.
